Ajit Kumar, the founder of MicroMD, came to America with the American dream of creation. In 1970 he attended Youngstown State University to obtain his Ph.D., and in the 1980’s he began teaching at the University. From there, Ajit was posed with a problem to solve. A few friends that happened to be physicians asked him to create an affordable medical billing system. Innovation, passion, and problem solving skills came together to produce MicroMD.

And now on the strength of more than 40 years of innovation, the MicroMD family of medical software solutions has grown to serve over 8,000 physicians in primary care as well as all major medical and surgical specialties.
