MicroMD 2015 CEHRT Version 13.5: When Should you Upgrade?

MicroMD EMR 2015 Edition CEHRT is coming…

We’re pleased to share that certified EHR testing body Drummond is in the final stages of confirming final testing and approving certification for MicroMD EMR Version 13.5 to be officially listed on the HealthIT.gov Certified Health IT Products List (CHPL). We anticipate being one of a handful of EMR vendors to have completed the complex 2015 Edition CEHRT in advance of the 2018 requirement and expect to begin actively upgrading clients participating in the CMS Medicaid EHR Incentive or Quality Payment Programs (QPP) in mid-August. This will give clients ample time to review their success with over 45 certified QPP Quality measures and an additional 8 EHR Incentive Program specific measures, Advancing Care Information (ACI) and Meaningful Use EHR measures, and Improvement Activities (IAs) for both individuals and groups. Clients participating in the CMS Medicaid EHR Incentive Program or the Medicare QPP will need to upgrade to Version 13.5 or higher to access new 2015 Edition CEHRT functionality. Updated reporting dashboards will be available in a future version to better help providers monitor success to maximize payment adjustments and incentives.

What should you be doing today for QPP and EHR Incentive Program?

In the meantime, MicroMD EMR Version 13 already has the majority of the data points needed for the 45 2015 Edition CERHT Quality Measures that will be available in the upcoming versions 13.5 and higher. Version 13 will allow you to start capturing data and running calculations on most – if not all – of your selected Quality Measures. We will release a 2017 Quality Measure Guide shortly that outlines which measures and how to capture those data points in MicroMD. While you won’t be able to yet run group reporting on the measures or export the data to a reporting registry in the needed format from Version 13.0, you’ll be able to monitor individual performance on most – if not all – of your selected Quality Measures. Start with selecting your quality measures, your target ACI measure set, and Improvement Activities that you’ll target to implement and attest to completion. Then kick off plans for how you’ll engage your staff to gather Quality data, meet ACI requirements, and implement and manage Improvement Activities.
