Community Collections at MicroMD
At our headquarters in Boardman, Ohio, our TSMs have had a busy quarter! For our community outreach events to end the year, we coordinated with our valued MicroMD client, Easterseals. With the organization, we pulled together to collect items for those in the Mahoning Valley that are in need.
We collected the following items…
- Boxed Stuffing Mix
- Canned Veggies
- Applesauce
- Gravy
- Variety of toiletries
This drive ran for two weeks and the TSMs came together to collect an impressive amount of items for this organization. Over 80 rolls of paper towels were collected to help homes across the valley clean up any unplanned messes during the holidays.
Anna, a member of the Community Outreach Team at MicroMD, helped coordinate the drive. She stated, “the Community Outreach team was thrilled to partner with Easter Seals and Midas to help needy families in our community. Easter Seals was very gracious and appreciative of our help with this volunteer effort. It was lovely of Midas to offer an incentive to those participating in the event. Our MicroMD family should be very proud of their generosity and willingness to share their abundance with those in need in our community!
To dive more into Anna’s quote, Midas provided vouchers to employees who donated 8 or more cans/items. This voucher allows the TSM to claim a free conventional oil change/$20 off of a service from one of the two local Midas locations. We want to give a HUGE shout out to Midas for this wonderful incentive. Thank you!
To continue on with other holiday traditions, we will also be working with the United Way this Christmas to provide holiday gifts to a handful of local children. We will be placing Christmas tags for gifts that the children would like to receive on our office tree. From there, any TSM that would like to participate will take a tag and buy gifts that the child will enjoy. This is a yearly tradition for us at MicroMD and our employees greatly enjoy being able to help provide presents for those in need around this time of the year.
Thoughts for the Future…
As we move forward into the New Year, we are beginning to think about the impacts our company can have on the community we are in. We are looking for ways we can continue to make a splash and other ways to expand the work we are already doing. Once we solidify our plans for 2020, we are excited to share the news with all of you.
