Q2 2020: MicroMD PM & EMR Tips and Tricks
There are so many interesting tricks when using any software program, and MicroMD is no exception. Some of the following useful tips could help save you time and improve your financial bottom line.
Patient Icon
MicroMD PM displays a Patient icon on the Daily View to indicate if there are still patients who need to be rescheduled. If you have closed a day and did not drop the appointments from that closed day to the clipboard or printed them – you can click on this icon at the top of the schedule and reschedule them at your leisure.
Auto Eligibility
You can set MicroMD to verify insurance eligibility automatically for patients’ days before their scheduled appointments. This alleviates the need to check the eligibility of each patient individually or to run the Appointment Schedule Report. MicroMD checks all scheduled patients when you configure this feature.
DME Orders in Encounters
- In version 17.0 you now have the ability to create an order for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for a patient and assign it to a user.
- DME orders use HCPCS codes. Anywhere you work with orders, you can also work with the new DME order type. You can create orders from the Desktop; from the patient’s chart; when adding attachments.
- You do not need to perform a DME order, you can just set the status.
Deleting Groups of Items from an Encounter
- The option to delete groups of items in an encounter is available in the Subjective, Review of Systems, Objective, Visits Test and Plan tabs of an encounter
- To delete a category right click on the category heading and select Delete Category. You can also highlight the category heading and click on the red X to delete.
- This feature is available in the Encounter Builder, Encounter Wizard and Form Encounters. It is also available in Cliniguides and Form Encounter templates.
