Q2 2022: MicroMD PM & EMR Tips and Tricks
There are a variety of interesting tricks when using any software program, and MicroMD is no exception. Some of the following useful tips could help save you time and improve your financial bottom line. Let’s learn more.
PM: Printing a Patient Statement On Demand
To print a patient statement “on demand” follow these steps (Note you must be on MicroMD PM version 14 or higher):
From the Patient Sequences window choose “Print Statement” from the Left Task Pane:
The “Print Statement” window opens.
Choose the options in the same way for your practice’s full billing run and choose “Print”
This is a great way to get a statement into your patient’s hands, when they ask for one, or they’re in the office. Using this method will NOT advance the dunning messages or set these options as defaults for the next statement run.
EMR: The Single-View Encounter Main Navigation Pane At-A-Glance
On top of the navigation pane are three buttons: Detail, Summary, and Report.

- The Summary Button: Shoes the Encounter Summary view of the encounter items you have added to this point of the encounter.
- The Report Button: Allows you to load one of the Encounter Reports included in the template.
Detail View
When you click Detail, the right side of the window shows ALL contents of the encounter, such as Review of System, Subjective, etc.
Summary View
When you click Summary, the right side of the encounter changes to a report window that shows you the summary. This is for your information only while you document the encounter.
Report View
In the Encounter Wizard template, you can build in specific Encounter Report templates. When you click the Reports button, the system displays a list of those report templates included with the Encounter Wizard template. Select the one you want to view first.
You also can choose a report “on the fly”. At the top of the report next to the Export and Print links, you can click the Lookup icon ( ) next to the Report Template field. Choose your report and the system displays it in the window.
