PM & EMR Tips and Tricks

Q4 2021: MicroMD PM & EMR Tips and Tricks

There are a variety of interesting tricks when using any software program, and MicroMD is no exception. Some of the following useful tips could help save you time and improve your financial bottom line. Let’s learn more.

PM: How to Establish a Set of Reports that you Generate Frequently

MicroMD allows you to create report queues to run specific reports on a regular basis. Here’s how.

First you want to create your report templates by going to the specific report and select the options you want. You then save those options by clicking on the third icon at the bottom of the options window.

The save icon opens the Report Selection Templates window.  Click New. Give your report a name and description. Once you have created all your report templates you are now ready to create your report queue.

Create your report queue under Reports> Queues.

When the Report Queues window opens right click in the blank area under Report Queues and you will get a pop-up menu. Select Add New Report Queue.

The Add Report Group window opens for you to name your Report Queue.

The Report Queue will now show on the Report Queue window.

Right click again in the blank area and from the pop-up menu select Add Report Queue Item.

This opens the window with the available report templates you have created.

Highlight the template you want to add to the queue and accept.

You will now see the list of your report templates in your report queue.

The pop-up menu gives you the flexibility to run, run and print, add, remove, and set report queue dates.

EMR: DrFirst’s RxInform Now Available in Version 18.0.4

Now in MicroMD EMR Version 18.0.4, users can deliver important prescription messages to patients with DrFirst’s RxInform. This free service provides valuable RX information to your patients via text message, including:

  • Education: Drug-specific educational videos and information to address clinical concerns
  • Savings: Discounts and copay assistance for branded or generic drugs to address
  • Call to Action: Option to set a pickup reminder to reduce forgetfulness

For patients 18 and older, there is a new check box on the Prescription Processor window called Send Rx adherence and text supporting info to patient. MicroMD automatically places a check mark in this option and defaults to the patient’s Cellular Phone from their demographics.
