Version 14 of MicroMD Practice Management & Electronic Medical Records Software is now available. This update includes various enhanced features, new modules, data updates, and additions designed, with you in mind, to get you back to the business of healing.

In Version 14, you can expect to find the following highlights…

NEW Durable Medical Equipment Certificate of Medical Necessity

We added new DME CMN forms CMS-846 and CMS-849 under the Extra button on the Claims Transaction window. This requirement by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) functions to determine the medical necessity of an item of durable medical equipment furnished to a Medicare beneficiary.

Enhanced MicroMD Posting/AutoPosting Features

These new enhanced posting/autoposting features accommodate incentive program payments/deductions.

NEW Occupational Medicine Module

This module includes a new Occupational Medicine Charge Posting window and uses a new mail merge type called Worksheet. Version 14 also includes the ability to document Service Types for employers and to print exam worksheets to an employee’s Service Type instructions.

Demographic Updates in Portal Now Automatically sent to PM

Demographics data that patients update on the portal is now automatically sent into the PM to enable staff to reconcile the information in the patient’s account.

QRDA III Reporting for MIPS Updated

Version 14 updated the Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) Category III reporting in MicroMD according to the updated 2017 QRDA III Implementation Guide (IG), Version 1.0, issued by CMS.

Added Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) button

Added an ePA button to the Prescription Processor screen for prescriptions requiring prior authorization. If the Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) doesn’t support the ePA, but the coverage file indicates that prior authorization is needed, the ePA button will appear dimmed indicating that it’s not available. Hovering your mouse over the button will display this message, ‘PBM X is not currently part of Surescripts ePA program.

When Setting up an Encounter Wizard, Load a Text Template

Users can now add more steps as text and associate text templates with these steps inside of the Encounter Wizard.

Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) Functionality to Identify and Flag Patients with Complex Needs

Version 14 includes the ability for a practice site to identify and assign risk scores/labels based on a risk stratification methodology that meets CMS guidelines. Risk scores are associated with health concerns on the Health Concerns window in EMR. The practice can then identify and flag patients that have complex needs and/or require episodic, short term care management. Also, you can generate patient lists and reports based on these risk scores/labels.

Access the History Recorder within All Encounter Types

The History Recorder is now accessible within all encounter types (in the Encounter Builder, Encounter Wizard, Text Encounters and Form Encounters), without having to open a patient chart first or use the Encounter Wizard.

Appointment Type is Now Indicated for Available Times on the Appointment Book Schedule

The Appointment Type is now indicated on the schedule in the Appointment Book for the available days and times that are highlighted on the schedule. The Appointment Type is also transferred now between the PM & EMR programs.
